The first American Music & Pop Culture Expo was held this past Friday and Saturday at the Granada Avenue Gymnasium in Hershey, PA. The show boasted something for everyone and was really filled with some unique table holders. Everything from sport and non-sport cards to pinball machines and slot machines. From hot sauce vendors to Mary Kay cosmetics; tarot card reading to insurance for your collectibles. You get the picture!

We have an exclusive gallery of photos from the show. Please find those below.

Non-Sport Update was set up at the show. We enjoyed the show and seeing some of the collectors and dealers we know from the Philly Non-Sports Card Show and the hobby, meeting up with exhibiting artists Laura Inglis, Rusty Gilligan, and David Quiles, and seeing the variety of vendors at the show. Of course, it didn’t hurt to have the show so close to our home turf!

We spotted several dealers selling both sports and non-sports. Most of the non-sport exhibitors will be familiar to Philly Non-Sports Card Show attendees: Derek Woywood, Bill Miller Collectibles, Chick’s Collectibles, Zeno’s Books, and JL Cards. We also spotted several promotional cards including the previously announced “Collecting Superman” promo (see image below) as well as three Realm of the Underworld (four of these have been issued but only three were available at the show), a card advertising Wizard of Oz pinball machine, a Mandalorian Mercs promo, and cards on artist Rusty Gilligan’s table

Shortly after the show concluded, we spoke with promoter Ron Vastola. When asked if he was happy with the way the weekend’s proceedings had gone, Vastola gave us a very us enthusiastically “absolutely!”. Vastola tells us that the show hosted 1,247 attendees (not counting children under 12 who were admitted free). We asked Vastola if a second American Music & Pop Culture Expo would be added to the books for 2014. “We will most likely run a show again in 2014, but necessarily the American Music & Pop Culture Expo” said Vastola. He continued “In March of 2010, we organized the Baltimore Non-Sports Card Convention, and in March of 2012, we organized the American Antique Toy & Coin-Op Show, in Old Greenwich, CT. We like to change themes and exhibit our mobility, just like our drive-in and outdoor movie events.”
