Reuters reported on Monday that Star Trek will be celebrated in London this October by bringing together all five TV captains for the first time. Organizers for “Destination Star Trek London” said on Monday that their fan convention would be the first official Star Trek live event in the UK for 10 years.
To commemorate the occasion, actors William Shatner (Captain Kirk), Sir Patrick Stewart (Captain Picard), Avery Brooks (Commander Sisko), Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway), and Scott Bakula (Captain Archer) will appear on stage together; a first for the iconic franchise.
Organizers said 10,000-15,000 fans are expected to attend the London convention being held at the Excel Exhibition Centre from October 19-21. Tickets go on sale starting April 30. Additional information is available at startreklondon.com.
The cost alone excludes me from this. How they can justify £29 for a one day pass – no goodies – just to get in is beyond me. You need to pay a whacking £899 to guarentee the five captain’s autographs. Nice if you’ve got that kind of cash to drop in these hard-up times.
