Comic Con International Saturday Report

Written By: Batman - Jul• 24•11

Saturday has typically been a bit of a slow day for me over the years, after two and a half days of running around and getting little sleep tends to catch up with someone my age. I do not have too much card related to report today, I was able to acquire Cryptozoic’s Vampire Dairies promo card, I picked up the Speed Racer sketch promo #3, a complete set of the All-Ghouls School, and a promo for Zen, Intergalactic Ninja. I was given this card by my friend’s daughter who knew I collected cards, fortunately it is marked as coming from booth 2001 so I will follow-up to see if there are others tomorrow. I also have all the Rittenhouse Archives’ Marvel Universe 2011 cards—but just one set. These were not easy at all, for several reasons.

I spent most of the day in the comics area with my friends Frank and Mike, it was relaxing and we had a lot of laughs, they both left today and I was sorry to see them go. I had a great dinner last night at Joe’s Crab Shack with Card Talk member “NL”, always great company and the food was great, I may go back again tonight!

I spoke with Tony from Triangle Cards today, he said his best selling items were the Breygent Mystery packs and Vampirella. The Mystery Packs are a virtual sell-out. I also saw the gang from Julios’, Julio, Jeannie, and Tom Breyer, all of them were exhausted, Tom has been sick but he wanted everyone to know that he is hanging in there and even giving Julio a hand.

I hope to be able to find some extra promos tomorrow so I have extras to help out folks who could not make it to the show. Some have been easy but others, like The Walking Dead and several Rittenhouse Archives Marvel Universe 2011 promos, have been tough. Wish me luck!
