In the current Aug/Sep ’15 issue of Non-Sport Update, which features Topps’ Garbage Pail Kids 30th Anniversary on the cover and as the feature story, we’ve checked in with GPK creators Brent Engstrom and Jeff Zapata. Engstrom and Zapata talk about creating the gags and illustrations for Garbage Pail Kids. Engstrom has been working on GPK nearly 10 years and Zapata for 13 years so they both know every vomit and fart joke inside and out!

We asked each illustrator what their favorite GPK stickers are (that they illustrated).  Those beauties are shown off here and in the gallery below—Note that Engstrom’s illustrations are shown without the GPK logo and name so you get to see those in their original (and unencumbered) form!

As an aside, here’s an interesting side note that didn’t make our story. In one of the early ANS editions, Zapata slipped in one of his own painted pieces and told the powers that be the art was an outside submission. It was not until the artwork was approved and ready to go to press that Zapata revealed himself as the creator of that sticker.
