This weekend at WonderCon in Anaheim, IDW Publishing revealed they are working on a Dinosaurs Attacks comic book. The company has not issued details about the project other then what was shown at WonderCon so details are sketchy at the moment (we’ll have more on the project soon).

Readers of this blog will note our previous story about the 25th anniversary of the property. IDW was first out of the gate with their Mars Attacks comic so perhaps Topps (the licensor of Dinosaurs Attacks) is following a similar path. Dinosaurs Attacks trading cards were issued by Topps in 1988 as a 55 card/11 sticker trading card series. The series was somewhat similar to Mars Attacks with dinosaurs instead of Martians. The cards were very well done but overproduced and boxes of the original can still be found inexpensively.

Three years after the original cards were issued, Eclipse intended to publish a three-part comic series but only issued the first book. We’re told the new IDW Publishing book will be a re-release of sorts and  the company is finishing up the last few pages, which Eclipse was unable to finish in 1991. Earl Norem, Herbe Trimpe, and Gary Gerani worked on the book. And now, after 22 years, their work will finally see the light of day!

More details when we get them….
