In what is possibly one of the most radical ideas to come to non-sports in recent years, Marty and Boo cards, the creator-owned card company behind the recent highly successful Nevermore Alice sketch card set, have announced a set consisting entirely of blank cards!

Entitled “Infinite Artist cards” (or IACS for short”), the cards are, in the words of artist Boo, “a way for normal people, artists who are learning to draw or have never gotten on a set to be able to take part and have a go and for collectors to be able to commission what they want without it taking away from the main sets we produce with our official artists.”

Infinite Artists Cards

Each pack, available directly from the Nevermore Alice website, contains 10 blank sketch cards. Each card has a specially commissioned and printed backs. There are two designs—one by Walter D Rice and the other by Boo with Dave Reynolds.

The cards add to the existing (and future) Nevermore Alice sets, the intention being, as Boo states: “There’s no limits, no set card numbers, every card you own is a part of this collection and it’s open to everyone and anyone. You can keep, trade or sell.”

The intention, according to Boo, is “to create a way for normal people, artists who are learning to draw or have never gotten on a set to be able to take part and have a go and for collectors to be able to commission what they want without it taking away from the main sets we produce with our official artists (as well as) to reach out to people who don’t know what sketchcards are, to bring them in to our industry which will increase customer numbers and bring forward fresh talent.”

Marty and Boo cards plan to releases other IACS sets in future, linked to their more mainstream releases.
