GeekRoom was a major presence at many shows this past summer including Wizard World Comic Cons in the Northeast and Midwest. At all three Wizard World shows, as well as the Fall Philly Non-Sports Card Show, the company promoted its Machete Premium Trading Cards series. With New York Comic Con taking place this weekend (Oct 10-13) at New York City’s Jacob Javits Center, you can bet they’ll be a GeekRoom presence and that its Machete Premium Trading Cards series will play a major part. In fact, the series will be hot of the press and available for purchase at the show.
Here’s a rundown of what you can expect to find in GeekRoom’s Machete Premium Trading Cards series:
- 50 Movie Action Cards (with quotes and commentary from the film)
- 15 Movie Character Cards (card backs form a giant puzzle)
- 1 Checklist
- 1 Sticker
- 1 Autograph Card (authenticated and encapsulated by Beckett Grading Services)
All above component (except for the autograph card) are packaged in a expertly-produced box presentation. Boxes are numbered and there will only be 300 sets produced — quite limited indeed! Sets will retail for $250.
EDIT: After the story was originally published, GeekRoom has announced sets will also be available for $125 without the autograph card.
Three different autograph cards will be available. New York Comic Con purchasers will have their choice of either the Lindsay Lohan Autograph Card as April Booth (numbered LL1) or the Lindsay Lohan Autograph Card as The Sister “Nun with a Gun” (LL2). Both Lindsay Lohan Autograph cards are limited to 100 cards. Once the first 200 sets have sold, a third exclusive Autograph card (actor yet to be announced) will accompany the remaining 100 sets.

As stated, the series debuts tomorrow at New York Comic Con. GeekRoom can be found at booth 1820. After New York Comic Con, they will be available on geekroom.com.
Several collectors have asked us if GeekRoom will offer another Machete promo card at New York Comic Con and we’ve been told they will not. What you will find, however, is another installment of GeekRoom’s “The Next Geek Thing” where you can transform your best and most clever idea into a movie, app, comic book, trading card, etc. Three judges will be on-hand: Rick Schwartz, Candace Baily, and Jeremy Frommer. Participants will have five minutes to present their idea and (hopefully) impress the judges. Look for more details on GeekRoom’s site.
