The UK arm of Topps has announced a follow-up series to World of Warriors. What’s that—you missed the first series? If you’re in the U.S., that’s no surprise. Topps has not released World of Warriors stateside as of yet, but in the U.K., the cards are huge! In addition to boxes and foil packs, the company has issued a “warrior binder”and a collectors tin for the trading card game.

World of Warriors is a game from developer Mind Candy, the makers of Moshi Monsters, another series Topps produced trading cards for.  The game made its debut last year and has been quite popular for iOS and Android. Topps first series of cards were released this past April. World of Warriors uses a cast of warriors from throughout history—Knights, Aztecs, Vikings, Samurai and others. During the game, players are taken on a grand quest. A spin-0ff game, appropriately entitled World of Warriors: Quest, was released last month.

According to published reports, Topps’ follow-up series will feature “new characters, specials and fresh game play elements.” The company says sales of the initial series are “exceeding expectations” at retail. No time-frame has been given for the new series but Topps is expected to strike while the iron is hot. And time will tell if the company decides to bring the cards to the U.S. In the meantime, for more info on the World of Warriors trading card game,  you’ll want to bypass topps.com this time in favor of toppsdirect.com. And you can head on over to your favorite app store to download the games, available in the U.S. and pretty much everywhere else on the globe.
