Goldin Auction has an original Topps’ 1977 Star Wars Series 1 box up for auction. Prices for the five original Star Wars series have slowly crept up over the years and all the successive Topps releases have done nothing to deter the value of these vintage collectibles. Unopened packs now routinely fetch $20 to $30 and boxes, when you can find them, can easily go north of $1500.
“This is a pretty rare find and one of the most sought after items among Star Wars collectors,” said Ken Goldin, Founder of Goldin Auctions. “The timing could not be better to offer this for sale as Star Wars collectors are reenergized with the upcoming release of the next trilogy. Based upon this timing and a hot market for Star Wars collectibles, we can easily see this selling for as much as $2000.”
The auction ends November 14 and the original listing can be found on the Goldin Auction site. Also, be sure to pick-up a copy of Non-Sport Update‘s upcoming Dec ’15/Jan ’16 issue featuring Star Wars: The Force Awakens on the cover and as the cover story.
