Remembering John Camps (and supporting a great cause) at the Philly Show

John Camps was a veteran of the original Gulf War and later did three tours in Iraq. His last tour was in 2009. He set-up at our first Philly Non-Sports Card Show in Allentown and told me he would not be able to set-up at.

Philly Non-Sports Card Show logoJohn Camps was a veteran of the original Gulf War and later did three tours in Iraq. His last tour was in 2009. He set-up at our first Philly Non-Sports Card Show in Allentown and told me he would not be able to set-up at the next show because he would be in Iraq. We were hoping he would be safe and be able to set-up at the show when he returned.

He did set-up at one more show and did not look like he was in good health. This turned out to be true because he died of pancreatic cancer on August 28, 2010 at the age of 46.

John’s mother, Barbara, will be setting up at the October 22 & 23 show in Allentown. She will be selling John’s inventory and will donate the proceeds to cancer research. The inventory includes pin-up collectibles, movie and TV card, sci-fi, Desert Storm, cartoon cards, etc. Prices will be very reasonable so be sure to visit her table and make some purchases.

So sad. And we will stop their table, too.
