If you were one of the unfortunate few who didn’t attend the last New York Comic Con, here are some of the impressive scenes you didn’t see:

  • The Walking Dead panel—cast members Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Danai Guira, David Morrissey, and Michael Rooker, along with showrunner and executive producer Glenn Mazara, and executive producers Robert Kirkman and Gale Anne Hurd played to the crowd’s expectations for the new season. Moderated by Talking Dead’s Chris Hardwick.
  • Peter Davison panel—The fifth incarnation of The Doctor in the celebrated British television series, Doctor Who, appeared in his own one man panel to answer questions about his life, his acting career, and all things Who.
  • The New York Anime Festival—(NYAF) became an integral part of NYCC, rather than continuing to operate as a separate festival. Since its inception, NYAF has presented the latest and the best in anime, manga, Japanese cinema, music, and games.
  • Batman panel—Noted actors Adam West and Burt Ward appeared in their own batpanel at NYCC. The acting team is best known for their roles as Batman and Robin in the 1960s Batman TV series and movie. The duo was also available to sign autographs.
  • Marvel—Marvel once again had a 3,000 square foot booth on the show floor where attendees had ample room to mingle with creators and staff, including Joe Quesada, Axel Alonso, Kieron Gillen, Jonathan Hickman, Rick Remender, Esad Ribic, Dan Slott, and Steve McNiven.
  • BFF—Friday night was Ben Folds Five concert night at Comic Con. The concert lasted more than two hours and was totally free for four day ticket holders and members of the press.
  • Topps booth—Located on the showroom floor, Topps went Mars Attacks-heavy this year with numerous displays from the angry red planet. Free sketch cards were drawn on-the-spot by fan-favorite artists like Jeff Zapata, Joe Simko, Mark Pingitore, and Jason Edmiston, among others.
  • Cards, Cards, Cards—Sidekick Media, CardHacks, Enterplay, Wax Eye, and Breygent Marketing were all well-represented with impressive displays on their upcoming products.
  • Artist Alley—Located in a room of their own, artists including non-sport favs like Brian Kong, Sara Richard, Katie Cook, Mark Pingitore, Mark Santos, and many, many more showed off their wares and their talents to eager show goers.

2012’s New York Comic Con attracted more than 116,000 attendees. This year the massive event will again be held at NYC’s Javits Center, October 10-13, 2013. For more information and tickets, go to newyorkcomiccon.com. This year promises even more. Don’t miss it again!
