Several product changes to Tarzan: 100th Anniversary are being made due to approval process issues, according to Patrick Dillon, project manager for Cryptozoic Entertainment.

Plans for a March release of Tarzan have been pushed forward to July. The original product configuration started with a 72-card base set. Currently, the base now stands at 54 cards, and this figure remains tentative, Dillon said.

Two chase sets of nine cards each have been announced. The first sub-issue, Movie Posters, contains imagery of theater placards from various MGM and RKO films starring Johnny Weissmuller. A second chase collection, Classic Book Covers, depicts original artwork from selected Edgar Rice Burroughs novels. Both chase sets await final approval from the Burroughs estate in Tarzana, CA.

“We are also in the process of gathering other Tarzan collectibles to also be included as redemption items,” Dillon added. This would be in addition to packed out sketch cards and also five-by-seven inch case incentive sketches by Rhiannon Owens, as NSU reported in its current April/May 2012 issue.
