The artist known as The Sucklord (who we’ve written about several times here on the blog previously) is making his first showing after being eliminated from Bravo TV’s Work of Art. On Wednesday, December 7 (7 – 9 PM), The Sucklord will launch a new line of collectible “art toys” inspired by the Occupy Wall Street movement at the End of Century retail space and gallery in New York City’s Lower East Side. The night is being dubbed Occupy Cybertron. According to the press release, “the Sucklord, acting as the leader of the Decepticons, will defend his vast fortunes against a solidarity protest of Autobots, which represent the 99%, in a conceptual performance art piece.” We couldn’t have said it any better ourselves!

Of interest to card collectors….a limited number of Occupy Cybertron trading cards have been produced to mark the event. The cards are done in a collaboration between Suckadelic, Appro Nation (creators of The Art Hustle) and SideKick Media (trading card manufacturer of Suckadelic trading cards). A free pack will be given to anyone who attends the event in a costume relevant to the showing’s theme. Those who attend will also be able to purchase a limited quantity of custom art toy action figures from The Sucklord. Also on tap for the night—The Crystal Pharoah will appear for a DJ set and Beerlao will be the drink sponsor.

The Sucklord further explains the theme of the night: “In the spirit of the 1% that an evil supervillain such as myself represents, I thought the timing was ripe for Suckadelic to appropriate the Occupy Wall Street movement for my own material gain…so I made action figures of the protesters and the masters of the universe who financially control them. They make great Christmas gifts.”
