Those who regularly read this blog may have noticed we’re written about Twin Galaxies a few times recently. Twin Galaxies is the authority on video game world records. The company recently began featuring the video game celebrities and world record holders they follow on trading cards. In addition, the trading cards also spotlight Twin Galaxies history and other events in the world of competitive arcade gaming. The company itself, and members of its staff, were featured in two recent documentaries: The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters and Chasing Ghosts – Beyond The Arcade. More recently, Twin Galaxies was part of The Art of Video Games exhibit at the Smithsonian.
We are now very excited to report that Twin Galaxies will be an exhibitor at the Philly Non-Sports Card Show, being held on April 21 & 22 at the Merchants Square Mall in Allentown, PA. You can find more information on the Philly Non-Sports Card Show on the Non-Sport Update website.
Come to the “Philly Show” and meet Walter Day and Billy Mitchell along with other video game celebrities and personnel who are featured on Twin Galaxies Video Game Trading Cards. Day and Mitchell appeared in both documentaries. Walter Day is the founder of Twin Galaxies and the authority in video game record score keeping. He regulary appears at events in his trademark referee shirt. Mitchell is known in video game circles for his high scores in many classic video games. He was the first person to achieve a perfect Pac-Man score and has held the record score in Donkey Kong off and on since the 1980s.
At the show, Twin Galaxies will premiere Twin Galaxies Video Game Trading Cards to the hobby. “We are delighted and very proud that Twin Galaxies has chosen the Philly Non-Sports Card Show as the place to premier their cards to the hobby” said Non-Sport Update publisher Roxanne Toser. Twin Galaxies will be giving away a special (and exclusive) trading card to show attendees. Card collectors will be able to see the cards and purchase product at the show.
