Now that the Non-Sport Update blog is back in action (system enhancements —ggrrr!!!) we can finally tell you about one of the premier shows we attended. The mammoth Pennsylvania Convention Center had its world rocked when the amazing Wizard World Convention held its annual Philadelphia show June 2nd through June 5th. Packed to the rafters with fans of all things pop culture, Wizard World once again offered a cavalcade of top talent available for photo ops, autographs, and for some, interesting and informative panel discussions. Major panels are held in the Terrace Ballroom, a huge venue capable of holding 4,700 fans.
Celebrities on hand included Marvel movie notables Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Chris Evans (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes) Hayley Attwell (Agent Carter), Stanley Tucci (Dr. Abraham Erskine), and Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark). Back to the Future alumni appeared in the persons of Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson, Christopher Lloyd, and co-creator, co-writer, co-producer Bob Gale. The X-Files were well represented by David Duchovny, Mitch Pileggi, and the smoke ‘em if you got ‘em bad guy, William B. Davis. Some other personalities of note included Billy Boyd (LOTR), Sean Patrick Flanery (Boondock Saints), James Remar (The Warriors), and Jason David Frank (Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers).
Of course, the show was also chock full of dealers, artists, creators, and cosplayers, making Wizard World Philadelphia a treat for all the senses. Wizard World Philadelphia will return June 1 though June 4, 2017, so start making plans now.
