As part of Topps’ 50th anniversary Celebration of Mars Attacks, the company has licensed GelaSkins to create Mars Attacks skins for digital devices. Now you can show off the famous (to card collectors) “Destroying a Dog” and “Prize Captive” Mars Attacks artwork on the back of your phone (or iPad). No more boring pastel shades or sock monkeys!
Thus far, GelaSkins portfolio has mainly consisted of skins by internationally renowned artists, rather then licensed art. The company recently created a line of Garbage Pail Kids skins and now Mars Attacks skins. No word yet if the company plans to complete the holy Topps trifecta with Wacky Packages skins (or perhaps Bazooka Joe?).
GelaSkins’ skins are fully removable and back with a 3M adhesive that comes off residue free. The company now also offers hard cases for iPhones, which are made from polycarbonate and offer even more protection.
The initial offering from GelaSkins includes 12 images from the original 1962 Topps card series, along with a few more recent artist renditions. The skins and cases range in price from $14.95 to $34.95. For more information and to order yours, visit the special GelaSkins Mars Attacks page.
